The Folly at the Farmhouse
The Folly is a wedding venue situated on the same site as The Farmhouse pub & restaurant on Ashbourne Road. The venue itself has its own entrance, carpark and grounds and therefore wedding celebrations are not interrupted by visitors to the pub.
We always enjoy working at The Folly because the space can be transformed into a beautiful and intimate area for the wedding ceremony and then opened up into a larger space for the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations.
We’re fortunate to be one of their preferred suppliers, and can honestly say we class them as one of our preferred wedding venues!
The Ceremony..
The most popular spot for the wedding ceremony tends to be facing towards the windows, looking out onto the fields. Our arches and moongates work perfectly as a decorative piece framing the ceremony and the table itself can be furnished with one of our floral runners and/or fabric and candles. The wedding venue supplies chivari chairs which are ideal for decorating with fabric drapes to match your theme. We can supply and attach chair drapes for your wedding day and garnish every chair, every other chair or aisle chairs only, depending on your preference. As a finishing touch, you may want to consider hiring our plinths or a couple of ficus trees to stand at the start of your aisle.
The Wedding Breakfast..
Once the ceremony has finished, the sliding room dividers can be opened and the area doubles in size in preparation for your wedding breakfast. A popular spot for the top table (or sweetheart table) tends to be against the back wall so that you can face all your guests and still enjoy the views outside! This is a perfect setting for one of our moongates or arches and a funky neon to create an impressive photo backdrop for yourselves (See pictures). We can decorate your top table and guest tables based on the same theme that you enjoyed during your wedding ceremony or change things up with some different foliage and fabrics. Our high-rise floral centrepieces are always a popular choice for the guest tables at this wedding venue and we have a range of colours and centrepiece stands to choose from. We can also supply fabrics, candles, charger plates and table numbers for your tables depending on how much extra colour and texture you would like to include in your theme (pictures). Once again, our chair drapes can be utilised to decorate the guest table and top table chairs, a different style and/or colour can be applied if you’d like to have a different theme to your ceremony chairs (pictures).
The Evening Reception..
For the evening reception, there is a DJ booth situated at the far end of the room and our 4ft light up LOVE letters are a popular addition in front of the booth or next to the dancefloor area . If you would like a photo area which isn’t too far away from the dancefloor, then the opposite corner is a popular spot for our flower walls and potentially another neon can be added. Alternatively, there is an alcove towards the front corner of the room where our flower walls fit perfectly and there is better lighting (during the day and in the evening during summer months).
Another great photo opportunity is during the cake cutting ceremony where you might consider hiring our wooden hexagon or triangle which can be decorated with florals and/or material to complement your wedding cake theme. Finally, you may want to treat your evening guests to some sweet options, for this we can supply our sweet cart and/or our donut wall (both stocked).
