Foxtail Barns
Foxtail Barns wedding venue is situated in Staffordshire and is set in the grounds of The Tawny Hotel, 70-acres of woodland and natural beauty surround the venue. From a wedding stylist perspective, Foxtail Barns is a real treat to work with. The Orangery has a botanical feel, and the room is filled with natural light which is a perfect setting for your ceremony. The party barn has incredible vaulted ceilings and a contemporary theme, this is where you will enjoy your wedding breakfast and evening entertainment.
The following guide will take your through each aspect of your wedding day and include our tips and recommendations for styling the venue and maximising photo opportunities.
The Ceremony..
The Orangery at Foxtail Barns is, in our opinion, the venues real focal point. The full wall of glass on the left-hand side of the room and windows overhead invite as much natural light as possible into the space and really give it the ability to be an ‘all year round’ wedding venue. The room lends itself to pretty much any colour scheme / styling, although many tend to keep in trend with the ceiling greenery by adding more to their styling plan. Whatever you do with this room though, you simply cannot go wrong!
The end of the aisle is a perfect spot for a showcase item such as a floral arch or moongate, framing your wedding ceremony perfectly and offer unique photo opportunities (especially if it rains!). The circular glass topped ceremony table supplied by Foxtail Barns can also be decorated with one of our smaller floral runners or perhaps a couple of floor pieces or a meadow, fabric pleating on the table is another option which is becoming more favoured by our couples!
We can decorate the aisle with floor pieces and cylinder vases or a combination of both, petals are also a popular option. Finally, if you would like us to create a feature at the beginning of your aisle then why not opt for white or black plinths with a floral piece on top and/or fabrics and candles.
Foxtail Barns has grey cross-back chairs throughout the venue which look beautiful when decorated, with either a single drape or in a Grecian style (two drapes). Depending on your preference and budget, we can decorate every chair in the ceremony room, every other chair or simply decorate your aisle chairs to really ‘frame your runway’! We have a range of fabric colours to compliment your chosen scheme and we can use ribbon and foliage/florals to introduce secondary colours where necessary.
The Wedding Breakfast..
The main event, well after your wedding ceremony of course! Once you’re officially ‘hitched’ the real fun begins and at Foxtail Barns this moves into their impressive party barn. Just like the Orangery, styling the wedding breakfast is never a hard task as the room is flooded with tonnes of natural light from two huge walls of windows. As venue stylists, it’s always exciting hearing the colours and themes our couples bring into the room – from the naturals to pink & black. Honestly the world is your oyster here!
If you opt for a top table or sweetheart table, this will likely back onto the wall on the left hand-side of the room as you enter giving you the perfect view of all your guests across the room. Often we’re asked to move ceremony arch/backdrop to behind the top table (we offer a return to move service for a small charge, or it is automatically included in our Epic and Exclusive Packages!) and we can also add one of our ‘marriage-themed’ neon lights at this point to give it a ‘wedding breakfast glow up’. If you have opted for floral décor for your ceremony table then this can also be re-purposed for your table and to really enhance your ‘main’ table, you could opt for a table skirt and/or fabric to run across the top of your table, as well as candles, depending on how much space you have. If you prefer to keep the table surface clear then our floor pieces or floral meadow can sit on the floor in front of your table too.
And for your guest tables? We have a huge selection of high and low centrepieces with varying faux floral colours, and couples can choose from ‘all-high’, all-low’ arrangement, or a mixture of high and low centrepieces which again is becoming popular. We offer a large choice of stands for our high-rise centrepieces, all of which are slender and do not block the view between your guests (yep, Auntie Susan at the back will be able to watch the speeches without any problems!). If you opt for low-level centrepieces, then these look amazing on their own, or can also come with candlesticks/candle boxes or glass vases placed in the centre (if you chose to have vases down the aisle, some of these could be added into the middle of the low level centrepieces after the ceremony – we’re all about repurposing!).
Additional styling of your guest tables will always depend on the space that you have and also your overall budget for wedding décor. We like to recommend using fabric runners to bring colour and texture to the tables, we can also supply napkins to match your preferred theme. Charger plates or rustic mats are a popular addition, as well as candles & table numbers – just giving your guest tables the love & styling they deserve!
Once again, the chairs supplied by Foxtail Barns for your wedding breakfast are crossed-back chairs which look fabulous decorated with beautiful fabrics depending on your colour scheme.
The Wedding Reception..
Your evening celebrations will remain in the party barn once the venue have turned around the room for you. The dance area tends to be at the far end of the room, our light up LOVE letters are a popular option to light up your dancefloor! We also have a range of flower & sequin walls if you would like to create a classy photo backdrop for your guests. Alternatively, you may like a backdrop for the cake-cutting ceremony, in which case, a flower wall or moongate could be utilised for this and then converted into a photo backdrop once the cake has been devoured! Finally, our fully stocked sweetcart is always a winner for later on in the day when your guests need a sugar boost to keep them energized!
