The Folly - Styled Shoot
A little late to the table writing about this one, but as they say, better late than never!
In late September 2022 we headed over to our local fave, The Folly at the Farmhouse in Mackworth, to host a beautiful styled shoot for them. Surrounded once again by some of the best wedding creatives going, it was an certainly one to remember!
From their own website:
Situated in what was once an 18th century farmhouse, The Farmhouse at Mackworth is now the home of The Folly; a spacious, stylish and intimate venue with a blend of old & new that is able to accommodate a range of party sizes and budgets hosting up to 130 guests for your wedding.
Simply styled The Folly is licensed to host weddings, civil ceremonies and receptions. We’ve created the ideal ambience for a unique, informal and memorable occasion giving you the perfect canvas to add touches of elegance and individuality to your wedding day.
Lucky enough to be one of their preferred suppliers, over the years we’ve supplied a number of beautiful weddings at this stunning venue so we knew that our vision for the shoot would transform the space. Teamed with the incredibly talented pair at Natalie Jayne Photography, we were excited to see how the day would turn out.. and as always Natalie and Carl did not disappoint!
Making a break from our normal customary green and white, we wanted to add in some autumnal feel to the theme and did so by using a mixture of navy blue chiffon and gold touches. This was also reflected in the spectacular hair creation by Michelle from Bridal Hair by Michelle Jewess, using the gold leaf to enhance the queen of hair herself, our model Michaela Knight.
For the ceremony area, we framed the aisle with our Sophia Floral Dome Centrepieces sat on our custom made White Plinths, with beautiful floral bundles on the floor by Amy at Polkadot Florist. The venues own Chiavari chairs were dressed with Navy Blue chiffon drapes fastened with a piece of gold leaf.
Framing the ceremony table had to be our Forest Arch, a very close second to our most popular Grace Arch.
More hints of navy and gold finished off the bottom of the aisle, draping the table with our Charlotte table arrangement.
I feel like we need to take a moment to focus on our ‘bride’ model Michaela. We were lucky enough to meet this beautiful lady at another wedding show and instantly hit it off. This girl has the most incredible hair to style! Together with the dream team of Michelle Dewess & Danielle from Creative DM, and incredible dresses from Mimi Toko Bridal, we couldn’t have asked for better.
The wedding breakfast brought together greens and pale pinks, using our Gold & Floral Moongate behind the top table, Amelia Floral Centrepieces and Hunter Green Cheesecloth chair drapes. Texture was created with gold candlesticks with hunter green candles, similarly coloured cheesecloth table runners and gold rimmed Charger Plates. Polkadot Florist added the final touches with some additional foliage.
Once again we enlisted the talents of the wonderful KM Stationary Design to produce the table menus and place names. This lady is amazingly talented at what she does!
Joanna Evans Cake Design pulled out all the stops creating a fabulous navy blue and gold three tiered masterpiece, framed by our Hexagon Arch draped with more navy blue chiffon. Amy at Polkadot added the final flourish made from a mixture of foliage and gold leaf.
The room was finished off with our signature ‘photo corner’ using our most popular Richmond Flower Wall.
